I've suffered from hyperhydrosis since I was a kid.  It was a very embarrassing time for me both personally and professionally.  I've been prescribed Drysol and even beta blockers.  Non of them worked.  I've known about ETS surgery but didn't want to spend the money since it's not covered under health insurance  policies and is considered cosmetic surgery.  Then I had a conversation with Dr. Garzon.

I was pleased with my consultation.  We went through the whole process.  I met with an anesthesiologist and was granted approval.  The surgery took place at CardioInfantil in northern Bogota.  The surgery itself took less than an hour.  And after the anesthesia wore off, I was released.  As far as the recovery time, I believe 2 days is sufficient if you have a desk job.  If you have a physical job, in my opinion you should rest for 1-2 weeks.  After the surgery, you have two small marks near your underarms on each side.  The incisions will feel tender at first so going to the gym and lifting weights above your heart may seem difficult.  I pulled out my stitches after two weeks and was back to normal.  I do remember perspiring on my hands and feet 2 or 3 times.  I think my body was adjusting to the surgery.  Now, my hands don't sweat at all.  In fact, I picked up a bad habit of licking my finger when I count money.  My feet and underarms sweat but very seldom and 90% less then before the surgery.  My forehead and scalp sweats when I exercise or when I'm under stress.  Each person reacts differently to the procedure.  I'm glad I've chosen to do this surgery.  I'm a lot more confident both at work and in my personal life.
